Weird and Wonderful Mural Project
FHN + Maryland Hall for the Creative Arts
April 14, 2018
810 Chase Street, Annapolis, MD
Weird and Wonderful was a collaborative effort between FHN, Maryland Hall for the Creative Arts, and 40 kids from various underserved communities throughout the Annapolis area. We painted 10 murals – averaging 12-feet in height and made up of 32 panels in total – to cover 10 windows on the exterior of the arts building, which have been boarded up for decades. The title of this project refers to the unique flora and fauna represented in the murals as well as the idea that it is okay to be weird – that each unique individual should embrace their “weirdness.”
The programs represented are: Jóvenes Artistas, Black Wall Street Annapolis, Centro De Ayuda, Annapolis High Performing and Visual Arts and Bates Middle Performing and Visual Arts.
